Cub Scout Pack Meeting, January 19, 2014. Our Cubs learned about the importance of maintaining a "Positive Attitude" in everything they do at our January Pack Meeting. We had three (3) great speakers from our local community present the subject. Pictured, 1st row, left to right: Isaac Snodgrass, Payton Harper, Eli Howard, Adam Smith, Aiden Mitchell, and Kyan Douglas. 2nd row, Samuel Tanner, Zack Taylor, Alex Parkins, and Brody Batten. 3rd row, our presenters; Chuck Conner, Susan Mullen, and Susan Greathouse all of which Provided the Cubs with a different view at how to keep your attitude positive. Special Thanks to the Presenters for keeping our cubs engaged - they learned a lot.

We had a lot of Cubs and Parents bowling at Spencer Lanes December 21st. The Cubs were given lessons on the art of bowling and then enjoyed a game. After the bowling, the Cubs exchanged gifts and then ate their fill of pizza.
- November 8-10, 2013 -
We had a lot of Cubs and Parents (with their own cars) turn out for our 3rd Pinewood Derby during our Family campout at UMC Community Park.
A total of 13 Cars were provided by the scouts. The cars were judged (lots of creativity shown by the Cubs) for Best Design and then the Racking Began. Lots of excitement and fun was had by all.

What fun our Cubs had at Camp Kootaga. They had two full days of cub activities and did not seem to run out of energy. They earned five (5) belt loops which included; Archery, BB Shooting, Ultimate (Frisbee Golf), Swimming, and Wildlife. They also learned about and participated in a Challenging Outdoor Physical Encounter (COPE) activity and launched pop bottle rockets (what fun that was) in Space Safari. Each afternoon there was a two (2) hour free time period for which Archery, BB Shooting, and Swimming were the most popular activities attended.
And of course there were other activities that were there, for example, the rope bridge was very popular with the cubs.
In the evenings we attended camp sponsored campfire activities also. We also maintained a campfire in our own camp area for our additional late evening activities (smoors, hotdogs, etc.). We met cubs from several other cub packs and made some good friends of them.
At the final campfire, a lot of cub packs did skits and songs. We did the song, "Do You Know the Muffin Man", which involves audience participation as it goes on and was a great hit. See the video on Facebook at "Cub Scout Pack 437".
All-in-all, we are looking forward to next year's camp and hope to have a larger group go and enjoy all of the Camp Kootaga's "Fun with a Purpose" activities.

We had a lot of fun during our Family Campout at St. John's Heights. The evening was filled with games, hot dog cooking, a night hike, and Smoors around the campfire in the early nights. A storm threatened us and some families choose to leave. However, the storm never got to us and those that stayed had a good night and early morning.
